Mr Anish Shah is a highly experienced Consultant Ophthalmic and Vitreoretinal Surgeon with over 15 years of specialist training and clinical practice. Educated at Imperial College London, he completed his higher surgical ophthalmology training through the London Deanery, gaining expertise across all major subspecialties including cataract surgery, glaucoma, cornea, retina, and neuro-ophthalmology.
He undertook a prestigious retinal fellowship at Sussex Eye Hospital, focusing on complex vitreoretinal surgery and advanced imaging. In 2014, he was appointed Consultant at Jersey General Hospital, where he served as Lead Clinician for Ophthalmology from 2016 to 2024, playing a key role in modernising the service and leading major departmental improvements. Mr Shah is Co-Founder of Evolution Eye Care, Jersey’s leading private ophthalmic clinic, and continues to practise across both the public and private sectors.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the European Board of Ophthalmology, and holds memberships with BEAVRS and the Royal College’s Quality and Safety Group. His clinical interests include retinal disease, complex cataracts, and diabetic eye care.
