Andy Langdown is a specialist in primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, with a focus on delivering patient-centred care. Recognising the evolving nature of lower limb arthroplasty due to rising patient expectations and demand, he is committed to ensuring that patients are actively involved in the decision-making process regarding their treatment.

Andy has a particular interest in joint replacement for younger patients who increasingly meet the criteria for these procedures. Additionally, he is skilled in knee soft-tissue reconstruction, knee arthroscopy, and the management of orthopaedic trauma, bringing sub-specialist expertise at the consultant level.

After graduating from Birmingham and completing specialist orthopaedic training in Oxford, Andy gained invaluable experience working alongside leading UK experts in the field. In 2004, he further enhanced his expertise through a fellowship in lower limb arthroplasty and reconstruction in Sydney, Australia, under the mentorship of Warwick Bruce, an internationally acclaimed arthroplasty surgeon.

This fellowship provided him with hands-on experience in advanced techniques and innovative implants, alongside involvement in clinical and basic science research. Andy remains dedicated to applying the latest advancements in joint replacement to improve outcomes and meet the needs of his patients.
