Mr Alastair Lockwood MA (Cantab), BM BCh (Oxon), PhD, FRCOphth is a highly experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist based at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, with a clinical and research career spanning over two decades

After completing his undergraduate degree in Physiological Sciences at Cambridge University, he went on to train clinically at Oxford University, earning his medical degree in the year 2000.

He achieved membership of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (MRCOphth) in 2005, followed by fellowship (FRCOphth) in 2015. He later earned a PhD through an MRC‑funded programme at UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Hospital, with a research focus on innovative treatments in glaucoma.

Mr Lockwood specialises in both the medical and surgical management of complex glaucoma. He performs a wide range of glaucoma procedures, including trabeculectomies, tube implants, selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT), and Endoscopic CycloPhotocoagulation (ECP).
